Pro Football Zone:
Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith has made it clear that they’ll continue to target week one of a regular season for safety Ed Reed’s return to the field after missing the entire offseason after undergoing hip surgery.
“(Reed’s) rehab is going well,” Smith said, via NFL.com. “The thing that is important, and we’re focused on, is to make sure he’s there Week 1 when we start playing for real.”
I wouldn’t expect Reed to be the “Ed Reed’ that we’re used to seeing when he gets back on the field. He’ll have plenty of rust to shake off.

WATT'S UP WITH THAT?
How many 6-foot-5, 290-pound pass rushing monsters do you know that can land a 59.5-inch box jump? Because we can only think of JJ Watt.
There should be little change in 2013 with the entire group is back from last season. Only one position is needed to be decided for the season.
Had a minor surgery at the end of OTAs to take out a bone spur, and he should be ready for training camp. Brown is a top-notch left tackle, and is the back bone of the Texans offensive line. He...
The Texans can’t get over the hump. They’ve won a wild-card game and then went on to lose in the divisional round in each of the past two seasons. Will things finally change in 2013? Do the Texans finally have the team that can lead them to the promise land? If not this year, then when? The Texans need to answer the bell.
If DeAndre Hopkins becomes an impactful No.2...

Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith was cautiously optimistic about newly acquired safety Ed Reed and his return (or should we say debut) to the team.
The safety is recovering from offseason hip surgery and did ot participate in OTAs.
Reed deemed the surgery as "minor," however; he will almost certainly begin camp on the active/PUP list.
The bigger question...
The Houston Texans have pretty big aspirations heading into the 2013 season, and they are going to need all the help they can get to live up to them–like linebacker Brian Cushing. Last month, Cushing stated that he would be cleared to play on July 17, his next appointment with Dr. James Andrews, and sure enough he was right. Andrews cleared Cushing to
Ever wonder why Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt is so effective at batting down passes? The 24-year-old has the benefit of being 6-foot-5, but he also has an incredible vertical leap. In a recent video that was posted on YouTube (via Eye on Football), Watt jumped onto a dresser-type thing that was supposedly 59.5 [...]
Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt is an amazing athlete and one hell of a defensive player.
One of reasons Watt is able to dominate at the line of scrimmage, is his ability to knock down passes. In this video courtesy of CBSSports.com, Watt shows some freakish athleticism by leaping onto a five foot box, from a vertical stand still position.
You can now catch the 289...
Tweet Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is one of the most feared defenders in the NFL. In just his second NFL season last year, Watt recorded 81 tackles and an impressive 20.5 sacks. Don’t forget about his 16 pat-downs and four forced fumbles either. One of the things that makes Watt such a special [...]
There has been recent talk of this “Homecoming” situation with the New England Patriots being something more than it is. The game takes place on December 1st in Houston and there are connections being drawn by the National Media after the Texans wore the infamous “letter jackets” on the trip to New England last season which resulted in a big win for the Patriots 42-14.
The Houston Texans are aware that they have a small window for success over the next few seasons, and don’t want to waste it.
The Texans announced that their would be specific themes for all eight of their home games this season. The themes range in subject from Hispanic Heritage in week 4 against Seattle, to a Pink Ribbon them in week 6 against the Rams.

NESN.com has an interview up with rookie NFL star Brennan Williams of the Houston Texans, who says he “100%” plans to look into a WWE career after he’s had a lengthy career playing football.
“I’ve got connections to Jim Ross and Booker T now. Those are opportunities that a lot of guys otherwise wouldn’t have,” said Williams.
“Some of the more talented guys [in WWE...
