Basketball is a pretty America sport. It was invented here and the best players in the world come to play here. You know what else is American? Taunting people who don’t look the same as you.

At least, that’s the case in San Antonio, where students from predominantly-white high school started chanting “USA, USA” after their basketball team beat a predominantly-Hispanic high school in the regional basketball tournament.

Get it? The kids from the other school must be from across the river because their skin is dark… or something.

Alamo Heights’ Andrew Brewer, the coach of the winning team, moved quickly to silence the chants and students, who have filthy rich parents, have since apologized. So, some kids made a stupid mistake. End of story, right?

Not so fast! We have to make a really big deal about this because, you see, if we’re not totally hyper-sensitive about these things society will surely crumble before our eyes. And we can’t have that, now can we?

San Antonio Edison, the school on the short end of this stick, filed a complaint with the University Interscholastic League, which oversees extracurricular activities in Texas’ public school system.

Presumably, they will round up every kid involved in the incident and slap them on the wrist. That’ll teach ‘em!
