In anticipation of setting their 40-man roster in November, the Rangers have begun the process of clearing space for potential additions. On Wednesday, the club outrighted both RHP Jason Grilli and C Kevin Richardson to Triple-A Oklahoma after both cleared waivers. Grilli is expected to become a free agent. The Rangers have interest in re-signing Richardson to a minor league deal. The biggest development of these moves is that it clears two spots, bringing the total number of players under control to 38. The roster must be set by Nov. 20 ahead of the winter meetings.
