Rangers officials, including GM Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington, will start talking with a handful of candidates for the hitting instructor vacancy created when Rudy Jaramillo took a three-year, $2.5 million dollar offer from the Chicago Cubs last week.
While the Rangers have declined to publicly identify the preliminary group, it appears that the list includes at least one internal candidate (Scott Coolbaugh) and one wild card (Rusty Greer).
Don't know about you, but that's a good enough list for me. I believe that Greer and Coolbaugh are the men - yes, the men - for the job.
