It's been a heck of season for Scherzer this year--13-0 record and a 3.06 ERA. While Tigers fans were likely dreaming that he would manage to go undefeated, the sad truth is that someone, someday would beat him.
That day was Saturday and it came courtesy of Derek Holland and the Texas Rangers.
Holland scatted five hits and five walks over seven innings while striking out seven and allowing one run to lead the Rangers to a 7-1 win. The victory stopped a three game skid where the offense appeared to forget how to hit, scoring a total of just four runs in all three games.
