That is exactly why LSU has given their head coach, Les Miles, a huge pay raise. Miles is set to become one of only give coaches in NCAA football that are making over $4 million per season. The new deal that has been submitted will pay Miles $4.3 per over the course of seven years. His previous deal, which began in 2008, paid him $3.751 million. Here are some additional details to go along with the new contract including additional bonuses and a hefty buyout if he is fired without cause. The new deal also includes an arrangement under which LSU would pay an additional $150,000 each year “into an account owned and controlled by LSU,” according to the athletics department statement. “Miles can collect the funds in the account totaling $750,000 after serving the first five years of the contract.
