Brad Keselowski took Team Penske to new heights on Sunday giving The Captain his first Talladega win after 28 seasons. According to Penske, “Brad is the real deal. I wouldn’t trade him for anybody right now.” While Roger has enjoyed 15 Indy 500 titles, he has yet to snare a NASCAR title. “One of my goals is to win a NASCAR championship,” quipped Penske.
Kyle Busch, Kenseth and Kahne got the leftovers.
All that could be premature given the fact that after Degga Brad is only 12th in the standings with Greg Biffle is still on top of the Sprint Cup point chase while Kenseth is next -7 points. Then JR, Hamlin, Harvick, Truex, Stewart, Johnson, Kyle Busch and Clint Boyer for the top ten.
On Saturday’s undercard at the 2.6 mile Alabama track, Joey Lagano notched a victory in the Nationwide go with the leftovers going to Kyle Busch, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr, Whitt and JR. “Kyle knew I was coming, ” said Logano with a toothy smile in victory lane. Prior to that the race was delayed by a spectacular crash by Erik McClure. McClure had to be cut out his car and was taken to the hospital by Medivac helicopter. He was released after an overnight stay.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing on FOX averaged a 3.4/6 on Saturday night for the race from Richmond International Raceway. That’s flat with last year’s performance of a 3.4/7 for the same race. Through nine races, NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing on FOX is averaging a 4.4/9 in the meters, off -6% from last year’s 4.7/10.
Luca Rossetti co-driven by Matteo Chiarcossi wins, dominating, the 3rd Eskisehir Rally, second round of the 2012 Turkish Rally Championship 2012; the three-time European Champion took the lead from the second special stage. The driver of Skoda Turkey – Yuce Auto increased, stage after stage, his advantage in the overall standings to reach the final victory. With the Skoda Fabia Super 2000 run by Pegasus Racing and Pirelli tires the Italian crew, but with Turkish license, has won 8 out of 9 special stages. The Eskisehir Rally was a completely new race for Luca Rossetti, tackled in a car with which he had competed only once, but the representative of United Business, showing great adaptation skills and thanks to his great experience in competing in ever-changing rallies with completely new roads has, after a special stage of study, become familiar with his performing Skoda and has steadily increased its advantage to climb on the top step of the podium.
