The Eagles have decided what to do with Michael Vick until week three
The Philadelphia Eagles have decided to use a roster exemption in order to keep Michael Vick off of the 53-man roster. This means that Vick will still technically be on the Eagles team, but it won't count against their roster. He will be kind of like a fifty-fourth invisible man.
This is a smart move basically because the Eagles do not have to place him on the regular roster having him take up space that they desperately need for other players. But at the same time Vick won't be aloud to practice with the Eagles until they place him back on the roster. I suppose they believe he learned all he needs to know until week three.
He will however be aloud to attend team meetings and workout at the Novacare complex.
So it turns out that it's most likely that the Eagles will head into the 2009 regular season with four quarterback "technically" on their roster if they keep Feeley.
This move will also make Feeley more tradable, because I am sure teams assumed the Eagles would have just cut him lose and didn't want to waste attempting to trade for him if he would just fall into free agency anyway.
If however they can't find a team to trade Feeley to by week three when Kansas City comes to the Linc then look for them to cut him.
