.... Well, as the article states ~ Tiger Woods struggled in the first round of the Greenbrier Classic yesterday. Always being in the limelight ~ he will always be scrutinized and analyzed in his mechanics, etc. And, so should Mickelson ~ since they both ended +1 for the round .... eight out from the lead by Vijay Singh. Even though, rest assured that neither Woods or Mickelson can be counted out yet! Three more days of play can make a big difference ~ as we have seen from both players throughout the years....as we saw from Tiger Woods last week ~ winning the AT&T Memorial Tournament. Nothing is final until the last player is on the last green and the putt goes down ~ on the final day.

Back to the leader of the Greenbrier Classic ~ one of my favorite players, Vijay Singh is currently holding the lead at -7. Singh is a quiet, unassuming golfer, without all the hype and accolades of some of the other players. He goes out to the course and .... just plays. Vijay plays in most all the tournaments ~ not a selected few as some do. Usually places right in the middle, but stays the "course" and plays his own game ~ without grand expectations ... by anyone ~ least of all, himself. I believe he realizes just how humbling the game can be. Yesterday, was his day to be at the top. He didn't get into any major trouble, getting close to the pin and putts dropped for him. Did he expect to do so well yesterday ~ probably not, but did. I'm happy to see him at such a status. He's a great golfer which most of the time is overlooked...and maybe that's how he likes it. He's a golfer with integrity and I have a lot of respect for him in a world where "exposure" seems to be essential in the world of reporting until it's run into the ground.

Congratulations to Vijay on an excellent round ~ stay the course!! With all that is going on in the world of sports ~ nice to see someone like Vijay Singh hold the lead.

To all ~ enjoy your sport of choice. Have a great day. Always ~ Elichap
