The best thing about going to the county fair is the hayride back to the car.  Don't get me wrong, I get some entertainment out of determining which person has the worst bleached-blonde hair.  I enjoy going into the 4H barns for a millisecond until I realize I'm in the middle of a barn and it reeks like farm animals.  I even make a game out of locating as many emergency vehicles as possible in the event my kids want to get on a carnival ride.  What I am trying to say is that I generally avoid all the "festivities" at the county fair, except for one.  I always get a funnel cake.  Funnel cakes are the only reason to go to the county fair, just like the Golden State Warriors are the only reason why I am getting the NBA League Pass this year. You might be thinking there are plenty of reasons to get the League Pass.  More specifically, you might have come up with at least a dozen good teams that are worth watching.  I would agree with you that there are plenty of good teams, but not all those teams are fun to watch.  Here are the teams, in order, that I believe to be both good and entertaining:  GSW, MIA, OKC, HOU, CHI, LAC, and MIL (just kidding).Wait, doesn't "Dub-Nation" have a ton of nationally televised games because of their success in the postseason last year?  They do, but I live in Pittsburgh, which is EST.  The Warriors play in Oakland, CA, and are on PST.  Of the 17 times Golden State will be on national TV this year, all of them start at 9:30pm EST or later.  Since I enjoy my job, and don't care to be laid off because I can't stay awake, I normally go to bed before 11pm.Enough of the geography lessons though.  How are the Warriors anything like a funnel cake?  Well funnel cake are made by pouring batter into hot cooking oil in a circular pattern and deep frying the overlapping mass until golden-brown.  But the best part is that they are covered in powered sugar.  The Warriors revolve around one of their prolific shooters, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, getting hot by putting a basketball through the circular hoop.  Curry in particular was inferno hot this past year, setting a single-season NBA record by making 272 3-pointers, breaking Ray Allen's previous record of 269.  Thompson wasn't shabby either, making 211 3-pointers, tied for third most in the NBA last season.Harrison Barnes now goes to the bench, which greatly bolsters their depth.  Andrew Bogut is one of the better defensive centers in the league, when healthy.  Let's not forget David Lee, who missed nearly the entire postseason because of a hip injury.  Those pieces are enough to equate to that yummy deep-fried dough. The powered sugar would be the offseason addition of Andre Iguodala.  He is a defensive force who thrives when facilitating on offense as opposed to scoring.  Losing Jarrett Jack meant the Warriors lost someone who could create on the offensive end.  AI2 is very much an upgrade over Jack in every way, except for his jumper.  Dare I say he completes this team the same way that powered sugar completes a funnel cake?  Yes, yes I do.I love ripping into funnel cake at the county fair, especially if it is right out of the deep fryer.  It just melts in your mouth, and the best kind requires you to use at least a dozen napkins.   But the best part about funnel cakes is that you can't get them all the time.  I mean I love watching MIA and OKC, but they will be on national television a combined 53 times this year (29 for Mia and 24 for OKC, not counting NBATV).  However, I wish I could have more funnel cake.  Thanks to the League Pass, I'll be getting my fill of funnel cake... err Golden State Warriors.

In and Out or Lucky Bounce? Looking at Seth Curry’s Chances Heading Into Camp

When the Golden State Warriors invited former Duke guard Seth Curry to training camp, I don’t think many people were the least bit surprised. After all, nepotism is not a new concept in pro sports. It’s not uncommon for teams to cater to their stars by giving their family and friends an opportunity in a relatively low-risk situation. In some cases, they end up making the team...

Harrison Barnes’ big test: A look at his new role

It’s old news: the Golden State Warriors signed Andre Iguodala this offseason. A great addition yes (check out what I think of the Can Barnes make this year a slam dunk? (Ezra Shaw/Getty Images North America) addition here), but in doing so the role of Harrison Barnes changes drastically. The question is, will it help Barnes grow into his potential, or could it hurt his development...

The Future: A Look At Harrison Barnes

Harrison Barnes Facebook Page   As was wildly evident in last season’s NBA Finals, having fire come off of the bench is a necessity in the basketball world today. The Heat allowed their starters rest throughout the playoffs by having a second unit that could easily hold their own against the starting lineups of many teams in the lower half of the league. This is a concept that...

Lindsey Hunter joins Warriors’ coaching staff

Lindsey Hunter (@Suns) 17 year NBA veteran Lindsey Hunter is the newest addition to the Warriors coaching staff as he was let go by the Pheonix Suns when he went 12-29 in his 41 games as interim Head Coach last year. Hunter may not be a household name but if you had to describe the former guard in one word it is without a doubt, tough. Hunter was widely respected as one of the toughest...

Iguodala: Warriors aiming for 'more than' 50 wins

Stephen Curry indicated that the Golden State Warriors are aiming for 50 wins this season when he said earlier this month that there's a number that ''has a five in front of it'' written on a whiteboard inside the team's practice facility as a goal. Apparently, that's not enough for Andre Iguodala. Not after he helped the Denver Nuggets win a franchise...

Warriors add Lindsey Hunter to coaching staff

The Warriors on Wednesday announced that Lindsey Hunter is coming on board as an assistant coach on Mark Jackson’s staff. You may remember him from his 17-year career as a serviceable back-up point guard for a host of teams, mostly with the Pistons. More recently, he was the poor sap in charge of that four-car pileup in Phoenix last season called the Suns. He was promoted to interim...

Andre Iguodala Expects The Warriors To Win More Than 50 Games (Video)

Who would have thought that the Golden State would be the talk of the NBA before the season even starts. Golden State is not a shocking pick to win the West after the steps they took last season.  They added the toughness and versatility with the signing of Andre Iguodala, and the veteran forward likes what he’s seeing so far. Iguodala piggybacked off of what Stephen Curry said...
