Michael Vick told reporters that he plans on getting “back to being the old Michael Vick.“ “I’ve got to play the game and leave it all out on the field and play aggressive and shoot it and run the ball when I feel there is a need to,” said Vick, via Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly. “If I get a seam, get a crack, take it. Just do what I’ve been born to do, blessed to do.” Considering that Vick was reportedly close to losing his job this week and the fact that playing conservative hasn’t helped his or the team’s overall production, this probably can’t hurt. Turnovers are still an issues with Vick, but his ability to take off and scramble for large gains is what has made him effective in the past. Thinking that Vick was going to win games as a traditional pocket-passer seems ridiculous, given his skill set. Both Vick and head coach Andy Reid are feeling the pressure in Philly, but they will be up against a historically bad defense this weekend, so there’s at least a chance that the Eagles co

Report: Mike Vick, Philadelphia Eagles assistant coaches at odds

Pointing to the increasing levels of drama and dysfunction on the Philadelphia Eagles team, there have been more meetings than usual at the NovaCare these days. This week saw the first players-only meeting of the season as well as an unusually long meeting between Andy Reid and Mike Vick a few days following the quarterback’s comments acknowledging the possibility of being benched...

Philadelphia Eagles: Vick to keep starting job

“Michael Vick was our quarterback, is our quarterback, and will be our quarterback.” Those were the words of Eagles coach Andy Reid Thursday as he addressed the media for the first time this week. Vick, who has been severely criticized over the past few weeks, called a player-only meeting at the Nova-Care complex today. It is unknown what was said in this meeting, but I’m...

NFL Rumors: Will Monday Night Football Game Be Final Time Philadelphia Eagles Start Michael Vick?

Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles when they hit the road for a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints in a must win game for both teams. But it may turn out to be more than a must win game, as it may also be a must win performance from Vick if he plans to keep his starting quarterback job past this game. If the Eagles lose...

NFL Rumors: Michael Vick Must Man Up And Stop Blaming Media For Philadelphia Eagles Woes

Michael Vick is pointing a finger at the media for the Philadelphia Eagles’ woes throughout the 2012 NFL season. The Eagles are a disappointing 3-4 this season because of the media. It has nothing to do with the poor play calling of Andy Reid. It has nothing to do with all of Vick’s interceptions and fumbles and poor decisions. It has nothing to do with an overrated defense....

Michael Vick And The Future of The Dynamic Quarterback

The dynamic quarterback is still a new and rare breed in the NFL. Most players with that type of athleticism gravitate toward receiver or running back rather than under center, but any defensive coordinator can tell you how much havoc they create on a defensive game plan.It is undeniable, however, that a quarterback who relies as much on his legs as much as his arm has had limited...

2 quarterbacks, 2 increasingly desperate teams

Michael Vick and Drew Brees came into the NFL the same year. Now, they're in the same predicament. Both are the quarterbacks of increasingly desperate teams, the season teetering on the edge of collapse. Brees has essentially become a one-man show for the New Orleans Saints (2-5), who are plagued by a historically leaky defense and anemic running game. For Vick, the stakes...

Saints Nation: Scouting the Eagles

I have to admit that it gets a little old scouting other teams when no matter who the opponent is the result is getting gashed 500+ yards regardless. Maybe this game at home on Monday Night could be the exception? At least Michael Vick has been struggling mightily with turnovers... but the flipside is the Saints' defense is just what the doctor ordered for an overhyped quarterback...

Keep the faith with Vick for Week 9

Through eight weeks, our Position vs. Fantasy Defensive Points Allowed is an increasingly strong tool to help you find good matchups. As always, please remember that the players listed are mostly meant to be borderline guys, who need reasons for you to play or bench them. You won't see recommendations to start Calvin Johnson and Drew Brees, because you should always start Calvin...

Saints Nation: Fan Predictions for Eagles Game!

A big congrats to JamesMorse for winning this week by picking correctly on the winner (Broncos, which makes me sick), and three of the four categories correctly. JamesMorse now joins AllisonSmith atop the leaderboard with one victory for the season. Nice work James, you're the Saints Nation Guru this week. This week the Saints take on the Eagles on Monday Night. Here'...

Do the Eagles Meet ESPN's Super Bowl Criteria?

Is this Eagles team good enough to win a championship?  Are Michael Vick and Andy Reid good enough to be considered a potential Super Bowl-winning coach and quarterback? We've all thought and talked about these types of things for a while now.  The ultimate goal of every NFL team is to win the Super Bowl.  Numerous things usually have to fall in place for a team to succeed...

Fantasy Football preview for the Philadelphia Eagles, Week 9 at the New Orleans Saints

As many fantasy owners have come to accept, 2012 has not been the year to own Philadelphia Eagles players on your team. Players like Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy have not lived up to their high draft spots while players like DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin have not provided the upside potential many owners hoped for. But that may change for at least this week, as the Eagles are...

Eagles-Saints Monday Night Football Preview

Philadelphia Eagles (3-4) vs. New Orleans Saints (2-5) Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana One of the biggest games of the weekend will take place under the lights of Monday Night Football as two struggling teams look to right the ship and get their seasons back on track. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who has struggled with turnovers during the 2012 season...

Eagles-Saints Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles have a quarterback and a coach both likely playing for their jobs. The New Orleans Saints are off to their worst start in the Drew Brees era following the best regular season in franchise history. Arguably the league's two most desperate teams entering Week 9, either the Eagles or the Saints will be in even worse shape after Monday night's game in...
