Turn On The Knicks:
Los Angeles Lakers
New York Knicks
Long Beach State 49ers
Duke Blue Devils
Ah, the dunk. It’s easily the most irrelevant stat in basketball, unless your name is Dwight Howard of course. Still, it’s easily the most captivating. Kevin Smith will be leading our NBA Draft coverage by breaking down the top five players in different areas of skill. He already showed us who the five best three-point shooters are, but now it’s time to see if there’s anyone out there who can save the corniness of the dunk contest.
5. James Ennis, Long Beach State
Ennis is a freak of an athlete with a perfect NBA body. Standing at 6-7 with a 6-11 wingspan, he can throw down with the best of them. Plus, anyone with a cool nickname like “Ennis the Menace” gets a thumbs up in my book. Four years in school has made him more pro ready than most think and he can make for a wonderful second round sleeper come draft night.
4. Ben McLemore, Kansas
McLemore is not only one of the top overall prospects in the 2013 draft, but also one of it’s most ferocious dunkers. His lone year at Kansa...

Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard's poor free throw shooting was mocked on a recent episode of the game show 'Jeopardy' as part of the category "Science in Sports".
The $1600 answer: "Geometric arch that's the natural path of a projectile; a narrower one helps free throws, Dwight Howard."
In case you were wondering...
Poor Dwight Howard can't seem to catch a break these days.
The star center just suffered through a miserable season with the Lakers, which saw his team get bounced from the first round of this year's NBA Playoffs. Now, with this future up in the air, the TV quiz show Jeopardy! has decided to take a shot at him. Observe:
Aww, come on. Is that really fair? Welp, fair or not...

The fine folks over at the television game show “Jeopardy” over the years have used NBA players as part of clues but during a recent episode, one clue took a shot at Dwight Howard’s free throw shooting. In terms of the context for the clue, it was in a category called “Science in Sports” and it was worth $1,600: *** Jeopardy mocks Dwight Howard’s free throw shooting [Deadspin]
The Hawks should be fined for lying to their fans, not tampering with Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. I know you need rules in place for these sort of things, but it isn’t like everyone doesn’t know Howard and Paul are going to check out their free agent options.
But, rules are rules and technically Howard and CP3 are still under contract, so the league is looking into this.
Dwight Howard has approached his upcoming free agency the exact way we expected him to thus far. The 27-year-old has made it clear that his return to the Los Angeles Lakers is hardly a foregone conclusion and that he intends to explore every option. Once he is done doing that, Kobe Bryant would like a [...]
You know you are very bad at free throws when a Jeopardy question is mocking you. That is exactly what happened to Dwight Howard on a recent episode of Jeopardy in which the game show took a shot at Dwight. It is hard to blame Trebek and company as Dwight is a mere .577 lifetime regular season free throw shooter.

Just to keep things in perspective, free agency doesn’t even officially begin until July 1st and Dwightmare 2 is only picking up steam. The latest report comes via Blacksportsonline, as we read that Dwight is still leery of teammate Kobe Bryant and head coach Mike D’Antoni. “People close to [Howard] say he’s still leery of [...]

The loss of Golson is going to really hurt the Irish. I’m not a Rees hater, but we’re talking a significant drop off. I expect to see Golson back in the saddle next season for the Irish. They’ll make a bowl, but curb your expectations this season.

The Atlanta Hawks may have jumped the gun a bit by using the names of impending free agents in an attempt to boost their ticket sales, and the NBA could make them pay for it. A recent letter that was sent to prospective ticket buyers hyped up the possibility of Atlanta making a run at [...]
Dallas Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki is not used to not being in the playoffs, and now he’s putting his money where his mouth is, in order to help his organization get back to championship contention.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Nowitzki told a local radio in Dallas this week that part of his pitch to free agents Chris Paul and Dwight Howard is that “he’d...
The Atlanta Hawks plan on being big spenders this offseason with the ton of salary cap room the will have heading into free agency. But they may have just shot themselves in the foot due to an overzealous ticket-sales department that sent out emails mentioning two high-priced free agent names that happen to be the biggest targets this summer. Everybody around the NBA suspects that...
