I know that I normally write about the NBA or the NCAA but sometimes I see a story about amateur basketball that I feel very strongly about and must offer some form of comment. When someone gives a child a basketball for the first time, they hold it, or throw it or kick it.  They must be taught to dribble, to pass and to shoot. The ones who teach the fundamentals often dream of that child growing up to play in middle school or high school and sometimes hope with the right teaching, the developed skills and the correct genetic build that they may be able to accomplish even more. Sometimes the players are not receptive to the teaching and sometimes the instructions given are off the mark. On Tuesday night, the Yates High School boy's basketball team broke the Texas state record when they beat Houston Lee 170-35.  For those of you who don't want to do the math, that's 135 points!
