Thoughts from the Third Row: New Decade for NBA, Same Relative Uncertainty

In the latter part of 1999, people weren't too sure about the new year that was to come.  They were going to see not only the end of the year, but of the decade, the century and the millennium.   People were rushing around panicking and stocking their basement with supplies in fear of what Y2K would bring.  But as everyone watched with anticipation as the ball dropped and the countdown to the new year occurred.  The world's computers didn't all crash and everything was okay.
