Golden State Warriors
Oklahoma City Thunder
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Golden State coach Mark Jackson has no problem admitting the Thunder provide the blueprint for what he wants his team to become. However, the Warriors don't have a Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to build around just yet, and that difference was apparent Sunday when Oklahoma City beat Golden State 119-109 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Thunder had a 94-73 lead to start the fourth quarter, and it looked like the Oklahoma City starters were done for then night. But the Warriors went on a 12-4 run to start the period. That forced Brooks to bring Durant and Westbrook back into the game. But momentum had shifted to the road team and Golden State closed to within seven points with 5:48 left in the game. That would be as close as the Warriors would get. Serge Ibaka and Kevin Martin knocked down a pair of jumpers to push the Thunder advantage back into double figures, and Westbrook and Durant scored the next seven points to put the game away. Wes...
BEST OF MAXIM
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is probably the most explosive guard in the NBA. Yesterday in a game against Golden State his athletic ability was once again on display.
In the second quarter of the game Kevin Durant pulled down a rebound and gave and outlet pass to Westbrook. From there Westbrook did the rest. He dribbled down the court and threw down monster dunk...
Kevin Durant notched his first career triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Golden State Warriors 119-109 on Sunday night.
The three-time NBA scoring champion has had growing pains this season as he has tried to improve his floor game, with a bump in his assist number coinciding with an increase in his turnovers...
Russell Westbrook is kind of an explosive player, so when he gets the ball on the break, opponents would be smart to just let him do his thing. Stephen Curry was not willing to do so on Sunday, though, and he paid for it.
Curry became the latest poster victim at the hands of Westbrook, who hammered home a dunk over the helpless Warriors guard to the delight of the crowd at Chesapeake...
Kevin Durant continues to be one of the league's best scorers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are reaping the benefits. That figures to be no different at home Sunday night against the Golden State Warriors, as some of Durant's best work has come against them.
The Warriors, though, hope a newfound toughness can help them slow down Durant and match their longest winning streak...
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has no problem admitting the Thunder provide the blueprint for what he wants his team to become. "This is certainly a model," Jackson said. "They had a tough time early on, winning 20-something games and going through the process. But give this front office, ownership, coaching staff a lot of credit. They...
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Kevin Durant and Kevin Martin each scored 27 points, and the Oklahoma City Thunder rolled to their sixth victory in seven games, 110-95 over the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night.
Serge Ibaka added 15 for Oklahoma City, which shot 54 percent (40 of 74) and built leads as big as 30 points in the first half and 34 in the second, allowing the starters to rest...
NEW ORLEANS - The thunder and lightning started early and ended late, and as usual, Russell Westbrook was in the middle of the meteorological firestorm. While Kevin Durant and Kevin Martin poured in 27 points each and combined for 10 3-pointers to power the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 110-95 rout of the New Orleans Hornets Friday, all Thunder coach Scott Brooks could talk about...

Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) put down a nasty fastbreak slam dunk over Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors). This just isn't fair really -- Curry is still a minor, right?
It was a banner week for the Detroit Pistons compared to the first couple of weeks.
After losing their first eight games, the Pistons won not only their first of the season but their second as well.
It was close but no cigar in the Pistons' second matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were playing their fourth game in five nights. Russell Westbrook had 33 points and...
The NBA came up with a creative advertisement featuring their "BIG Color" Christmas Day uniforms that will be worn by the teams playing that day. The commercial features superstars Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Joe Johnson, Russell Westbrook and Dwayne Wade wearing the special uniforms and dribbling to the beat of "Carol of the Bells".
BIG Color gear...
NEW ORLEANS - Kevin Durant and Kevin Martin scored 27 points each and combined for 10 3-pointers to power the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 110-95 rout of the New Orleans Hornets Friday. The 110 points were a season high for the Thunder (7-3). Their offensive production was so good they made 14 of 29 shots from 3-point range (48.3 percent), which was better than the Hornets' overall...
