Not too long ago, Tim Lincecum was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. His long hair and his unique delivery were on the top of baseball. He won back-to-back NL Cy Young awards, won 2 World Series starts, and was the face of the franchise. He was only 27, right when a pitcher is entering the prime of their careers. Then, last year happened. His regular season was terrible, and found himself working out of the bullpen, somewhat effectively, as the San Francisco Giants captured their second World Series title in 3 years. 2013 hasn’t been much different up to this point. He only has two starts under his belt, but the command isn’t there, as he walked a career-high seven batters in his first start, though he didn’t allow a run in only five innings. His second start this past Tuesday looked like much from last year, as he allowed six earned runs. Lincecum is trying to find himself, as he can’t blow pitches by hitters these days, and he knows that whoever is at the plate is licking their chops when he takes the mound.
