Sports fans tend to be among the most finicky people around, and in Oakland they sure are getting started young. Over the weekend a young man at the Detroit-Oakland was given one of the greatest gifts a kid could ever hope to receive—a real baseballl from a major league game. A man in the crowd seated next to the boy’s father caught the ball, and then gave the prized souvenir to the father to share with his son. But instead of tucking the ball away in a safe place, to have and to hold forever, the little tyke indignantly, and with rather solid form I might add, chucked the ball right back onto the playing field. The struggling Oakland A’s pitching staff could have learned a thing or two from that little boy about how to throw a ball, as they were absolutely harassed by the Detroit offense en route to a 10-1 loss.
