Titus Young tells his fans via Twitter that he won’t play in 2013 if he isn’t part of the Lions game plan (Credit: AP Photo) This season was supposed to be a breakout year for Detroit Lions Sophomore wide receiver Titus Young. Instead, Young was benched week ten for conduct detrimental to the team. The following week, Young lined up in the wrong spot multiple times, supposedly as an act of defiance against being benched. After the week eleven match up against the Green Bay Packers, Young never played another down before being placed on the injured reserve two weeks later. Today, Young took to Twitter to tell fans that if he is not a part of the Lions’ game plan he wants to stay off of the field. Like I said I never been selfish but if I’m not going to get the football i don’t want to play anymore — Titus D Young Sr (@TitusDYoungSr) January 22, 2013 Never have I ran the wrong route, just put my self where the ball was going — Titus D Young Sr (@TitusDYoungSr) January 22, 2013 After a season in which Young seemed to be in nothing but trouble, it is unlikely if he will be back with the team next season. Last month, when head coach Jim Schwartz spoke to the media about Young’s knee surgery, he said Young was scheduled for the surgery but only if he “showed up”. It seems as though Young is going to let his attitude ruin his NFL career. The post Titus Young: I don’t want to play if I’m not getting ball appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.
