TEAMS: Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions released wide receiver Titus Young just last week, but it looks like it was after their 2013 team calendar was put together.  As you can see from the picture above, Young is on the cover of this year’s calendar. This is really bad, the Lions should retract these calendars and place someone else on the cover.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.a...

Detroit Lions: Team Needs in the 2013 NFL Draft

As we continue the Team Needs series for the 2013 NFL Draft, we proceed to the team with the fifth overall pick; the Detroit Lions. After making a playoff run the year before, many were expecting the Lions to become a threat in the NFC North, but they fell back to their familiar place in 2012; the cellar. In what seemed like a rerun, the Lions lost numerous games in the same fashion...

Lions' 2013 calendar already out of date

The Detroit Lions' roster makeover has turned disastrous for a Waukesha, Wisc., supplier of NFL team calendars. It was bad enough when the Lions' 2013 calendar debuted with the month of January featuring cornerback Aaron Berry. Berry, you'll recall, was released by the Lions way back in July before training camp even opened following two arrests in less than a month...

Eric Fisher ‘Solidly in the Top 10′ for 2013 NFL Draft, Per Mel Kiper

Eric Fisher, the dynamite offensive tackle out of Central Michigan, might wind up on the Detroit Lions’ radar at No. 5 overall, especially if the team loses both Jeff Backus (retirement) and Gosder Cherulis (free agency). And, if ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has his finger on the pulse, using the fifth pick on Fisher might not be much of a stretch. Kiper said Eric Fisher of...

Detroit Lions Mount Rushmore: Four Franchise Icons

The Lions have a long history. They started out as the Portsmouth Spartans in 1930 before moving to Detroit in 1934 and becoming the Lions. In their 79 years then have won four NFL Championships (1935, 1952, 1953 and 1957), but since then they’ve only won one playoff game in 1991.The Lions have two current players who can become all-time greats, one of which has made this Mt....

Report: Lions lose a top assistant to Rams

You can argue that Jim Schwartz needed to make changes on his coaching staff, but this wasn't one of them. The Detroit Lions have lost one of their top assistants, Tim Walton, who reportedly has accepted the job as the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator under Jeff Fisher. Walton, 41, has coached Detroit's defensive backs since 2009. The secondary has been an often...

Safe to Say the Vikings Will Be Better than the Lions in 2013

First things first. Up until pretty much this year when the Detroit Lions reverted back to being the Detroit Lions, those Honolulu Blue kittens always had a soft spot in my heart, despite "technically" being NFC North rivals. You see, those laughable louts had the panache to go 0-16 in the modern era, they ruined Barry Sanders' life, they always play on Thanksgiving...
