Former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda was, if you can believe it, the special guest at the Albuquerque Isotopes' Tommy Lasorda Bobblehead Night. In addition to some memorable warbling through the National Anthem, he beseeched the crowd for their dearest regards, but only after besmirching the history of their home town. Lasorda once managed the Albuquerque Dukes, which were the former Dodgers Triple-A affiliate, so he has lasting impressions to impart about his experiences in what was apparently once a sad husk of a town populated by mangy stray dogs and tin huts that were home to a disturbing breed of subhumans. However, since then it has apparently blossomed into a respectable burg worthy of his singing talents. Of course, if Tommy is going to pay a backhanded compliment, he would like your prayers in return. When I coached here, you couldve dropped an atomic bomb in downtown Albuquerque and only done about 40 bucks of damage. Today, you have a beautiful city and the best...
