According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com the Toronto Blue Jays have designated infielder Nick Green for assignment. The move was done to activate right-handed pitcher Shaun Marcum from the disabled list.
Green was signed by the Blue Jays in mid-June to a Major League contract. Green was also apart of the Dodgers organization this year but was designated for assignment at the end of May.
In early April, there were rumors that Green would return to the Boston Red Sox, a team he played for in 2009. He had an opt-out date in his contract, but the Dodgers called him up before he could exercise the opt-out.
