After the acquisition of first baseman Ryan Garko, many people wondered if the Giants were done making moves before the trade deadline. Today, the San Francisco Giants traded a highly regarded minor league pitching prospect, Tim Alderson, to the Pittsburgh Pirates for three-time All-Star second baseman, Freddy Sanchez. Sanchez is a solid contact hitter who fits in perfectly at the top of any team's batting order. However, after reading some other articles and comments, some fans are a little underwhelmed by the Giants' latest acquisition, despite Sanchez's credentials. Many fans are of the opinion that Sanchez is not the answer to the Giants' prayers due to his lack of power, which the Giants still could stand to see improved, despite bringing in Ryan Garko.
