When Joe Smith was traded from the Nets to the Lakers back in December, he tied Chucky Brown, Tony Massenburg, and Jim Jackson for the most NBA franchises played for (12). Maybe you knew that already, but I didn’t know it until reader Will Rausch recently pointed it out to me. That led Will to pose an interesting question: “Among the four guys who are tied for that record, which one of them has worn the most distinct uniforms? In this era of throwbacks and alternates, I’d think it would have be Joe Smith.” Seems like a fair assumption, right?
