Troy Takes SBC Series With Pair of Saturday Wins Over ASU

The Troy Trojans (29-22, 14-13) used a four-run fifth inning to wipe out a 3-2 Arkansas State (27-24, 15-12) advantage, and went on to defeat the Red Wolves 9-3 Saturday night at Riddle-Pace Field. The win, coupled with Troy's 11-6 victory in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, gives the Trojans the 2-1 series victory in the Sun Belt Conference weekend series between the two teams. lt;br /> lt;br />Arkansas State opened the series with a 5-4 victory in the Friday opener, but with a berth on the line in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, Troy bounced back to earn the final spot in the bracket with Saturday's two victories.
