The Minnesota Twins have traded winless pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named. The deal was announced Tuesday during baseball's winter meetings. Slowey went 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA this year and was out from May to August because of an abdominal strain. He made eight starts and six relief appearances and the Twins went 0-14 in those games. Slowey became the first major league pitcher to make at least eight starts and lose them all since Lou Sleater of the St. Louis Browns in 1951, STATS LLC said. The 27-year-old Slowey is 39-29 with a 4.66 ERA in five seasons with the Twins. He's been one of the best control pitchers in the majors over that span. Slowey has averaged just 1.42 walks per nine innings, the second-lowest rate in the majors since 2007. Roy Halladay is the only pitcher with a better mark at 1.41. Slowey went 13-6 in 2010 when the Twins won their second straight AL Central title. Minnesota plummeted to last place this season and lo...

Minnesota Twins Trade Kevin Slowey to Colorado Rockies, Where He'll Suck

For the record, we love Kevin Slowey. Upon meeting him a few times and "interviewing him" -- using that term loosely since we all but groped him -- we will definitely miss his adorable face and unbecoming haircut at Minnesota Twins events next season. After shopping him pretty much all season long, the club finally traded the right-hander to the Colorado Rockies for...

Twins trade pitcher Slowey to the Rockies

The Minnesota Twins have traded right-handed pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named later, the team announced Tuesday. Slowey, 27, spent his first five seasons in the majors with the Twins, breaking into the league in 2007. He began his career as a starter but was moved to the bullpen prior to the 2011 season. In five years with Minnesota, Slowey was...

The Colorado Rockies acquire Kevin Slowey from the Twins

The Rockies have acquired 27-year old righty starting pitcher Kevin Slowey from the Twins for a player to be named later. Slowey pitched in 14 games (8 starts) for the Twins last year and he was 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. He was pitching hurt most of the year, so that might explain the horrible numbers he put up. Slowey has now pitched in 100 games (90 starts) in his...

Kevin Slowey traded.

Slowey was traded for a player to be named later to the Colorado Rockies. I think Slowey when healthy was a good pitcher but he was not great. His time had come I just hope Terry Ryan is getting a player in return that can become a Twin in time and provide help.

Fantasy Impact: Harang to Dodgers and Slowey to Rockies

The Winter Meetings are moving along nicely, and just this morning it was reported that two starting pitchers have agreed to pitch in the NL West, Aaron Harang and Kevin Slowey. While neither has generated the buzz that C.J. Wilson or Mark Buehrle has — and I’m not suggesting they deserve that much buzz — these moves do have fantasy significance. Aaron Harang Signs with the...
