Tyrann Mathieu has been through a lot these past few months, all due to his own ignorance. Mathieu was arrested with former LSU teammates last week and charged with the intent to distribute marijuana.
Pro Football Talk is reporting that Mathieu, who is trying to prepare for the NFL Draft and get away from negative influences, has moved to Florida and into the home of former LSU teammate and current Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. Jennifer Hale of KVUE broke the story on Twitter.
Confirmed: Tyrann Mathieu escaping negative influences in LA, staying w/good friend Patrick Peterson’s family in S Florida for a new start.

Peterson and Mathieu are close friends. Mathieu even changed his number to 7 after Peterson left Baton Rouge for the NFL. Here’s hoping a change of scenery for Mathieu, as this can hopefully save his life and his career.

Former LSU CB Tyrann Mathieu reportedly is living with the family of Patrick Peterson, another former LSU CB now playing in the NFL.

Peterson, who attended LSU, and Mathieu are close friends. After Peterson left LSU, Mathieu changed to No. 7, which had been worn by Peterson in Baton Rouge.

Tyrann Mathieu the Honey Badger: 2013 NFL Draft’s best joker corner? With a class shallow in cornerbacks, is it time to mock Tyrann Mathieu?Suspended from LSU indefinitely, Mathieu stayed at the University to complete his studies. When Tyrann Mathieu got himself kicked out of LSU before the 2012 season, CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman heard the talented but troubled defensive back "cost himself millions."
And Mathieu was arrested on drug charges along with other former LSU players last week, he looked like a lost cause. So it's good to hear that he's moved in with the family of Arizona...
Brandon SmithIt seems like forever since Tyrann Mathieu was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. It was less than 11 months ago. In that time, the former LSU safety has come to be known for his off-the-field troubles instead of his enormous talent and clever nickname. From winning the Chuck Bednarik Award for the nation’s best defensive player, to being dismissed from the football...
For Alabama and LSU, defense is more than just a vital part of the game.
It's who they are.
Both teams have dominated the defensive rankings in recent years, and this season is no exception. Top-ranked Alabama lost six starters off last year's team in the NFL draft - including three first-rounders - but the Crimson Tide still leads the nation in every major defensive category...
Just when you think you've seen any possible WTF fashion faux-pas you can in the SEC, another one pops up that takes things up a notch further than you could ever think possible. LSU quarterback Zack Mettenberger sat down to talk to reporters sporting a pair of multi-colored striped shoes. Pretty gnarly looking multi-colored striped shoes. (And not in the good way.)
There's one unstoppable, raging dumpster fire threatening to engulf all challengers for the rest of the year.
When you give up 63 points to Texas A&M at home after holding LSU to 13 points earlier in the year, your team has completely quit. I'm not sure how Gene Chizik survives this dumpster fire of a season.
