The tradition of championship sports teams visiting the White House dates to 1925, when the World Series champion Washington Senators stopped by to hobnob with then-President Calvin Coolidge. In the decades since, hundreds of champion teams have come to the nation's capital to receive official congratulations.
The visits haven't been entirely without controversy -- does anyone remember Flip-Flop Gate? -- but nothing compares to what happened Wednesday afternoon when the University of Connecticut women's basketball team dropped in to be honored by President Barack Obama .
Like most college students, the Lady Huskies seem to love a good ol' fashioned photobomb -- which must be why junior Stefanie Dolson and sophomore Kiah Stokes busted out a pair of bunny ears for the Commander in Chief to sport during the photo-op.
