Cain Velasquez (Pictured) promised he would be more aggressive than he was in last November’s encounter with Junior dos Santos, and the former UFC heavyweight champ kept his word on Saturday night.
After getting put to sleep in merely 64 seconds in their initial scrap, Velasquez came storming back at UFC 155 to reclaim his crown. Velasquez battered the Brazilian for 25 minutes to solidify his spot as the division’s top dog.
After eating a vicious right hand that appeared to leave dos Santos dazed and confused for the remainder of the night, “Cigano” showed the heart of a champion by continuing to lay it all out on the line. Unfortunately for dos Santos, Velasquez was not to be denied in their rematch.
Velasquez cruised to a lopsided (50-45, 50-43, 50-44) unanimous decision victory.
UFC 155 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
