New York has yet to legalize mixed martial arts, but that hasn’t stopped UFC president Dana White (Pictured) from conjuring up big plans their debut in the Big Apple. Oh, and get this, White has already picked out a date and has the main event marked. “I plan on being in New York in 2013 for the UFC’s 20th anniversary,” White said over the weekend. “That’s my goal, so we’ll see. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t think it was [feasible]. “That’s our goal is to get in there in November for the 20th anniversary at Madison Square Garden. We’ve got a card planned. We’ve got some stuff planned. We’ve just got to get past these scumbag gangster union guys and see what happens.” White wouldn’t disclose which fighters would be showcased under MSG’s historic spotlight. However, he did discuss who the “scumbag gangsters” were. “It’s all dirty union [expletive],” White expressed. “Dirty, rotten, scummy union. The Culinary Union of Las Vegas. UNITE. Scumbags. That’s what’s stopping it.” In addition to the Culinary Union, who has been an annoying and relentless thorn in Zuffa’s side for the past few years, New York’s shot callers have to finally give MMA the green light in order for the Octagon to make its premiere on Broadway. The Assembly Democratic conference refused to even discuss sanctioning the sport in 2012 and left it off the floor vote. It marked the fourth consecutive year The Empire State shot down the regulation of MMA. Only New York and Connecticut remain unregulated in America, while Alaska and Montana lack the necessary regulatory bodies to oversee MMA.
