Found March 08, 2012 on Cleveland Frowns:
UPDATE: WKYC and Bob Finnan of the News-Herald have confirmed the rumor. WKYC says the announcement is coming on Monday. Finnan adds that Grossi “will continue to cover the team, travel to the games and appear on the air for the radio station. The station hopes the move drives traffic to their website. He won’t have his own show on the air, however.” Anyway, you heard it from us first. UPDATE (2): Grossi comments on the move, says he’d have left for WKNR even if he hadn’t been demoted by the PD, and takes a shot at PD ombudsman Ted Diadiun on the way out. ————— Yesterday, longtime Plain Dealer Browns beat writer Tony Grossi took to his Twitter account to announce that he’s leaving the newspaper where he was recently removed from the Browns beat after having tweeted that Browns owner Randy Lerner is “a pathetic figure, the most irrelevant billionaire in the world.” Shortly thereafter we heard from multiple local corporate media members who told us that Grossi is on his way to work for

Report: Browns to go hard after Robert Griffin III, could settle for Tannehill

Getty Images According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns will likely aggressively pursue Robert Griffin III and if the price gets to high for him, they could end up settling for Ryan Tannehill by either taking him 4th overall or trading down and taking him. I don’t believe there’s any way the Browns will be willing to outbid the Washington Redskins...

Joe Haden nude pics leaked by ex-girlfriend

Cleveland Browns star CB and former Florida Gator, Joe Haden is the latest pro athlete to be snitched on by a scorned ex. Courtesy of gossip site Media Take Out, there are some pretty graphic photos of Mr. Haden. Damn shame….

Heckert: I might not be here in six years “so who cares?”

“I really like [Brandon Weeden]. I really like him a lot, and we’re actually gonna see him [Friday at his pro day]. That’s the million-dollar question. You go, ‘Wow, he’s 28 years old.’ But I don’t know. If he can play six years, I might not be here, so who cares? If he can play, he can play. [...] He’s mature, and he’s telling you it’s a positive. And it is...

The Cost of Robert Griffin III

I haven’t said much when it comes to the topic that all of Cleveland has been most interested in for the past month (at least). The topic of course is Robert Griffin III, and specifically whether or not the Browns should trade up 2 spots in order to select him in this year’s draft. There are likely more than a few reasons for my silence. First and foremost is because I have not...

Heckert leaves trade down possibility on the table

BEREA -- Peyton Manning will not be joining the Cleveland Browns, but the Browns like four quarterbacks in Aprils NFL Draft, where a trade down remains a possibility. That was the word from Browns General Manager Tom Heckert, who made his first appearance with the local media since he had heart surgery after the Senior Bowl. Heckert did not want to go into details about his procedure...

NFL Rumors: Browns Not in Play for Mario Williams

Browns general manager Tom Heckert recently told local press that the team will not be “going crazy” in free agency. In lieu of his statement, coupled with the addition of the team’s belief that there are no “Reggie Whites” to be had, Pro Football Talk’s Evan Silva believes this officially takes Cleveland out of contention to acquire the services of free agent Mario...

NFL Free Agency: Browns will not pursue Peyton Manning

Browns GM Tom Heckert spoke to media today and said what everyone pretty much already knew. The Browns will not be pursuing Peyton Manning. “Not really,” said Heckert in an informal meeting with the media today. “That’s probably not a direction we’re going to go.” While that is about as unsurprising as anything Heckert could have said today to the press, it is nice to...

Browns eyeing Matt Flynn, not Peyton Manning

According to Steve Doerschuk of CantonRep.com, Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert has made it clear that they’re not interested in Peyton Manning.  However, they are interested in Matt Flynn once he hits the open market next week. Heckert also mentioned that the Browns might decide to trade up, he obviously can’t confirm anything. I like the way the Browns are going...

The Realities of Robert Griffin III as a Cleveland Brown

One point I tried to make on Tuesday night when I was on 92.3 the Fan with Joe Lull and Pete from Cleveland Frowns was that my excitement over RG3 is not a guarantee that he will pan out. In the end I am one part dreamer and three parts realist or pragmatist. I know full well that there is a chance that RG3 will fail in the NFL for any number of reasons. He could break down physically...

Trade down possibility on table

Browns general manager Tom Heckert with local media Thursday, days before start of free agency to answer questions, however vague, on the Browns' plans.

What should the Cleveland Browns do with their first 3 draft picks?

For the Cleveland Browns, it’s all about landing Robert Griffin III. Which means they’ll probably have to spend some picks/dough to move up to #2 in order to nab him. The St. Louis Rams are overtly looking to deal that pick, and the Browns would be the perfect suitor. However, I don’t project trades in my mock drafts. However, this is what I see them doing- finding a new quarterback...

Report: Tony Grossi leaving the Plain Dealer

Tony Grossi announced via his twitter feed that he will be leaving the Plain Dealer- “After more than 30 years, I am leaving the Plain Dealer. And thanks to Peyton Manning for stealing my thunder.” Grossi was of course removed from the Cleveland Browns beat earlier this year for a tweet about Browns owner Randy Lerner in which Grossi called Lerner “a pathetic figure, the most...

In Peyton Manning the Browns hope

Now that Peyton Manning is a free agent the Browns front office and their fans should hope he goes to the Redskins. If Peyton goes to the Redskins the Rams lose the majority of the their leverage for the 2nd pick in the draft. If Miami misses on Peyton they would be more likely to sign Matt Flynn which take them out of the trade. The others team that would try to trade up are so...
