Stockton Thunder Press Release
STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced veteran center Harrison Reed has been loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Reed, 25, leads the Thunder with 21 goals and ranks second with 43 points in 43 games this season. He also paces the ECHL with 12 power play goals and leads the team with 21 power play points (T-4, ECHL) in his first season with Stockton, serving as alternate captain.
The 6-foot-1and 188 pound forward returns to Lake Erie for his fourth AHL campaign and picked up two assists in four games last season with the Monsters. Reed has ten goals and 25 points in 194 career AHL games with Albany, Lake Erie and Houston.
Reed finished as a runner up for the ECHL Player of the Week award in each of the previous two weeks.
Reed was selected in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Thunder returns to play tomorrow, continuing a four game road trip against the Alaska Aces at 8:15 p.m. (1280 AM KWSX/StocktonThunder.com).
