If you watched Saturday night’s late night in-state rival game between the Utah Utes and the BYU Cougars, you know the scene towards the end of the game.

It was pretty hectic as the Utes won three times. The first win came after an incomplete pass that sealed the deal as the clock ran out. But after fans rushed the field, the play was reviewed and found to have one second left on the clock.

The second win came after the field was cleared and BYU had a chance for a last second field goal to send the game into overtime. The kick was no good, but fans rushed the field again before the officials had actually called the kick no good. So the crowd was penalized and BYU got another opportunity.

The third and final win came when BYU’s second chance field goal pinged off the crossbars and fell to the ground – no good. The fans were held back, and when the officials signaled game over, the fans rushed the field.

During the final rushing of the field, Cougars coach Bronco Mendenhall was being escorted off the field by officers when a Utes fan came up and started antagonizing Mendenhall. Bronco didn’t like that, and turned around to go after the fan. Nothing came of it as the guy turned away, but it’s still pretty funny. Check it out! (and Go Utes!)
