Danica Patrick  manages to stay in the news in a variety of ways, and during the Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday it was by picking a fight with another driver. Patrick was upset by some contact Cassill’s No. 83 car made while executing a pass, and attempted to show her displeasure by giving Cassill’s car a shove and turning him sideways. That’s where things went seriously wrong in Patrick’s ill-fated attempt at serving justice. After the race, Cassill (who finished 18th) had this to say in his defense. “The reason I hit her is because she was driving like a maniac in 30th place and put all of us at risk. She was just driving crazy on the restarts and I had to get by her, so I just put a fender to her just like I would any other stock car driver. “This whole thing has probably blown up because of who it was with. It was just hard racing. I’m trying to make it in this sport, just like she is. It was one professional race car driver to another.” No matter who was more at fault, it’s a clear win for Cassill, with a top-20 to his credit vs. a wrecked car in the garage for the GoDaddy girl.
