Recognize this guy?Photo Credit: It’s clearly downtime during the NFL season, with the season rapidly approaching, and a reporter decided to have a little fun with the Washington Redskins. Kevin Jones of wusa9 decided to bring a picture of Washington Nationals phenom Bryce Harper to practice, and give a little pop quiz to the team. The results? Pure comedy. Alfred Morris – “Is that Tom Brady?” Rob Jackson – “I have no idea.” I tell him Bryce Harper. “I haven’t heard that name.” Roy Helu – “Harper? Matt Harper?” Chris Neild – “I should know this. I’m a big Yankees fan.” Those were a few of my personal favorites, but there are a few more you should check out in the piece. As Jones notes, there were a few guys, like Jarvis Jenkins, who nailed it, but those aren’t nearly as fun to think about. Maybe someone should take a picture of New York Mets phenom Matt Harvey to Jets and Giants camps; maybe the players will do better than other New Yorkers. By: Frank Santos- Sports-Kings Co-Founder

Harper makes passionate speech

Bryce Harper may be one of the younger players on the Washington Nationals, but that hasn't stopped him from acting like a leader.

For the Washington Nationals, a young core provides hope for the future

Bryce Harper (Photo Credit: Jonathan Newton/The Washington Post) By all accounts, the 2013 season has been a disappointment for the Washington Nationals up to this point. However, the season still has two months left and the team certainly has time to make a run at the NL’s second wild card spot. Assuming the Nationals do not make the postseason this year, (which realistically...

Bryce Harper tells his band of rogues & regulators to ‘saddle up’ and then antes up with a homer

It was after the Nationals last game played that Bryce Harper told his teammates it was time to ride. Tonight, Harper responded with a ballgame. The Nationals won the game 4-1 in Milwaukee, and Harper deposited a ball in the second deck off my former teammate’s teammate Burke Badenhop. The home run was Harper’s 16th of the season – which you figure if he gets extremely hot...

Redskins Training Camp Report

In late July and early August of last year, the Washington Redskins’ energy was that of excitement and anticipation of future potential. With the addition of RGIII, things were looking up, but there were still a lot of question marks surrounding other parts of the team. At this time last year, there was a three man contest for the starting running back job. Would the Redskins offensive...

Nationals’ Bryce Harper ties Ken Griffey Jr with home run

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper tied Ken Griffery Jr for 3rd on the all-time home run list for players under the age of 21 years old. In the top of the 6th inning with a 3-1 count, Harper took the pitch over the right field wall to put the Nationals ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0.   Bryce Harper’s 38th career HR ties him with Ken Griffey Jr. for 3rd-most HR...

Brady frustrated with new WRs?

The Patriots have several new wide receivers to work with, and it sounds like Tom Brady is having some frustration with them already.

Amendola, Brady make a connection

Coach Bill Belichick changed things up a bit yesterday by having his Patriots scrimmage. The stars of the day? Tom Brady and Danny Amendola. The quarterback and wide receiver only played what amounted to one series and change. But that’s all they needed and it almost wasn’t fair to their teammates. Brady and Amendola looked like they had been working together for years as opposed...

Should the NFL use Helmet Cam's?

With today's ever growing need for the latest and greatest technology in every part of our lives, the NFL is now stepping into the light by introducing helmet cams for quarterbacks during camp. But are these cams really worth it in the long run? Also, if they are, what are the good things about having them? The St. Louis Rams were the first team to wear a cam on the QB's...

Breakout Rookie Predictions For the 2013 NFL Season

After sitting through an entire offseason, the NFL season is finally here as teams reported to training camp last week. Just as we saw last year with guys like Andrew Luck, Russell Westbrook and Redskins teammates, Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris, we’re expecting a few guys to establish themselves as the potential best of [...]

Julian Edelman’s Return to Patriots’ Practice Gives Tom Brady More Security in Slow-Developing Passing Game

FOXBORO, Mass. — Julian Edelman trotted out onto the practice field at Gillette Stadium with his teammates in full pads, which must have been a welcome sight for Tom Brady. With an entirely new group of wide receivers on the roster, Brady has enjoyed some highs and suffered through some lows so far in training camp. So, Edelman’s return to the fold should ease some of the pressure...

Vote: What Has Been the Most Positive Patriots Training Camp Storyline Thus Far?

Sunday was an off day for the Patriots, as they prepare for their first preseason game on Friday. That makes it the perfect time to look back on some of the positive storylines coming out of training camp thus far. One of the biggest question marks heading into this season was how New England would try to overcome the loss of four of its five top receivers from last year. The other...
