Washington State coach June Daugherty announced the signing of six players to national letters of intent for the 2012-13 season. The diverse roster begins with guards Dawnyelle Awa (Konawaena High) and Emalia Galdeira (Konawaena High) out of Hawai'i. Whitney Tinjum from is a forward from Chisago Lakes High in Minnesota. Taylor Edmondson is a guard from Carlsbad Senior High in New Mexico while Mariah Cooks (Ernest Righetti High) and Alex Williamson (Mater Dei High) are guards from California. The big group will help replace some of the experience Duagherty is losing in her backcourt from starters like PG April Cook to G Jazmine Perkins. "We are extremely proud of the talented and athletic class that will be joining Cougar basketball next fall," Daugherty said at a press conference Wednesday. "They bring a wealth of talent that covers every need of our program. They are high quality individuals who continue to work at their game to become great every day." Washington State opens it...
