WHALE WIN!!! Unreal performance by @ctalbot33 as the #Whale have won 4 in a row! See you Sunday at 7! #bleedgreen — CTWhale (@CTWhale) November 3, 2012 The Whale are now 4-3-1 this season. Cam Talbot made 43 saves on 44 shots including five-for-five in the shootout. Christian Thomas scored the lone Whale regulation goal. His second of the season. Matt Gilroy scored the only goal in the shootout for the win. Kyle Jean had his seven game point streak snapped. Chris Kreider, Marek Hrivik and JT Miller combined for zero points and one shot on goal. Kreider took four minor penalties. For a box score, click here. For a recap, click here. ...said the other day that Talbot will be Hank's backup when Biron's contract is over, but if there's a season, he might the take that position this year. ...big goal for Thomas, who seems to be getting more comfortable and gaining confidence in the pro game. ...not the greatest night for Kreider. ...Marek Hrivik is still looking for his first goal of the season, after scoring five in nine playoff games last year. ...Gilroy is quietly having a great start to the season. 2g, 2a with 28 shots on goal in eight games, plus a shootout winner. He's also a combined +5 in his last four games. Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at nyrfan94@yahoo.com.
