Penn State was always in control of this game. The Golden Gophers were never able to really do anything on either side of the ball. The Offensive Line looked great. There was plenty of running room and Clark was generally kept upright.
On Defense they were able to shut down the player some are calling the best wide receiver in the Big Ten. For a secondary that has replaced every position it was a good test and more than a passing grade. It was great to see a goal line stand to preserve the shutout. Sean Lee was on the field again and did not reinjure himself. This defense has been threatening to shut someone out all year. It feels better that it turned out to be a Big Ten opponent rather than Temple.
On the downside, every lineman was flagged in the game. They cannot have those penalties against other Big Ten teams. Stephfon Green left the game injured. This concerns me. He has been running very well the last few weeks and not running from contact ...
