With Tony Moeaki not being able to stay healthy throughout a whole season, as well as offseason, and Anthony Fasano being able to be a reliable blocker and red-zone target yet not having the ability to stretch the field, the Chiefs third round pick, Travis Kelce does have the ability to stretch the field, as well as being a reliable blocker. Travis Kelce has a sort of unique size to him at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds and his overall athleticism immediately caught the eye of teams towards the third round of the draft. In 2012 Kelce had a breakout senior season leading the Bearcats with 45 catches with a whopping 722 yards and 8 touchdowns. Before being able to showcase himself and his abilities in the Senior Bowl he suffered a hernia which also robbed him of Mobile and the scouting combine. Kelce was also suspended in 2011 making him fall in the depth chart. However Kelce does have big potential at the tight end position, he is very competitive, athletic and going to a club potentially in desperate need for a playmaker down the middle of the field, Kelce has a chance to once again make the tight end position one to fear in Kansas City, which hasn’t been feared since the era of Tony Gonzalez. Though Kelce might not be a for sure starter you can expect him to be battling for the starting position with Moeaki and Fasano.

Chiefs experimenting with the pistol offense

In college football, we often see far more creativity than we do at the professional level. Part of that is simply due to the sheer number of teams in the college ranks versus the number in the NFL. Because teams must often choose players that aren't top ranked prospects, offenses and defenses have to be tailored to each team's needs. Still, every now and then, an innovation...
