Hey Friends,

It’s been awhile. I hope everyone is doing well.

You might be asking where the hell we’ve been as a collective whole since our last post. It’s kind of a complicated story.

Every day for over three years, the first thing I did when I woke up and the last thing that I did before I went to bed was make sure that this website was updated and working correctly. It was a job that I accepted with pleasure. However, around the time of that last post, I started to feel like it was work. I was getting burnt out.

The problem had been growing for some time. UFC 112, and UFC 113 didn’t feel like they used to. They weren’t these great events that I looked forward to every single month. I didn’t watch them and enjoy them. I watched them and thought about all the writing I would have to do when I got home that night. It was ruining my enjoyment of the sport.

I decided that if I kept going at the rate that I was going to wind up hating MMA. Seeing as I didn’t want them to happen, I decided that I was going to do something drastic. I went on complete blackout. I stopped writing, I stopped checking Bloody Elbow and MMA Fighting, and I even stopped watching some of the events. Seriously. I missed an entire season of Bellator and (Ready for this?) I didn’t even watch UFC 116 live.

It turns out that the break may have been exactly what I needed. I started to get psyched for UFC 117 a couple of weeks ago. Then, when I was watching the card, It started again. I started thinking about the hypothetical stock watch that I would be writing. After the card, Jay and I spent the next couple of hours discussing potential opponents for the fighters who were featured tonight. It was like it was when we first started all over again.

So, in short, we’re coming back. Not just yet. I have another project that I am working on right now, but it should be done pretty soon. My goal is to be back for UFC 119. That should happen, but if it doesn’t the latest I would like to come back to this site is October 1st.

I know you missed us while we were gone. We missed you too.

We’ll see you soon.
