Yesterday, we posted our stat projections for the 2009-2010 season.  Today, we look at those projections and give you a few names that our projections see breaking out this season.

Who Will Breakout In 2009-10?

  • Ed Davis:  This is a no brainer, right?  Davis played just 19 minutes per game last season, and similar players for Davis see a big jump in their sophomore seasons.  The comparisons for Davis include Solomon Alabi, Dwayne Collins, Rasheed Wallace, Trevor Booker, and Dale Davis.  Projections: 12.0 PPG, 7.8 RPG
  • Reggie Jackson: Similar to Ed Davis, Jackson was limited to around 20 minutes per game, and with the departure of Tyrese Rice should see more playing time this season.  Jackson's comparable players included Julius Hodge, Jawad Williams, Scooter Sherill, Marvin Lewis, and Kenny Anderson.  Projections: 11.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG
  • Jeff Jones: Our projection system liked Jones a season ago, and while the sharp-shooter took a step forward, he didn't quite meet our expectations.  This season, we see Jones stepping up again thanks to comparisons to Chris Duhon, Kenny Anderson, Jason Williams, Ed Cota, and Bobby Hurley.  Projections 12.6 PPG, 3.0 RPG
  • Solomon Alabi: The big man is receiving attention for his NBA potential, and we expect to see the continued growth in his redshirt sophomore season.  Alabi received comparisons to Trevor Booker, Brandan Wright, Sharone Wright, and Shelden Williams.  Projections: Projections: 11.5 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 2.2 BPG
