MLB Injury News:
Chicago White Sox outfielder Alex Rios is being talked about as a potential trade target for some teams. While those teams are interested in Rios, he may not be interested in them.
According to a report from Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, Alex Rios has the Astros, Athletics, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Royals and Yankees on his no-trade list.
While no deal appears imminent, it may hurt some teams' chance of getting him. We know that the Diamondbacks have scouted him and have interest in him, but the Yankees may be an interesting team in the Rios sweepstakes. The Yankees lost Curtis Granderson to an injury, but he will likely be back soon. Why not get Rios to play the outfield and move Ichiro Suzuki to the designated-hitter spot. Also, Rios provides a bat that can spark an offense. The Yankees could use some offense right now with all of their "big name" hitters gone.
The teams that aren't mentioned on this list that reportedly have interest in Rios are the Giants and Rangers. Both of those teams would be good fits for Rios and it appears he thinks the same. On the year, Rios is hitting .268 with 11 home runs and 38 RBI's. If he is traded, the team that gets him will instantly get results from Rios.
