IRVING, Texas Robert Griffin III declined to reveal his Heisman Trophy vote Tuesday when asked by a reporter on a conference call at the Cowboys' Valley Ranch practice facility. Like all previous winners of college football's top individual award, the former Baylor Bears quarterback has a vote. During the same question, Griffin was asked if he had seen Texas A&M freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, who some consider the front-runner for the honor, play this season. "I can't disclose my Heisman vote," the Washington Redskins rookie quarterback responded. "It's funny that I say this, but I got to see the youngster play and he's done a good job. And that's a lot coming from a Baylor Bear. Right now it's up in the air because for me it's been a difficult year, and I've talked to some other Heisman voters. It's been a difficult year for the Heisman, just who to vote for, so it'll come down to the last couple of weeks. He's in the talk." Griffin's former team knocked off No. 1 Kansas State on Saturday. The outcome may have ended KSU quarterback Collin Klein's chances at winning the award. But Griffin wasn't counting him out. "He's a Big 12 quarterback, so it'd have been nice to keep it in the Big 12," Griffin said. "But like I said, you just don't know what can happen. My team lost a few games, but we won six straight down the stretch and did some great things in prime-time games. So you never know what's going to happen. Klein might still end up winning it. You don't know. Manti Teo might. It's up in the air." Follow Jon Machota on Twitter: @jonmachota
