Ole Miss is currently on a 3-game win streak, I’ll be it 2 of which were against Arkansas(3-7) and Idaho(1-9), the other of which was the memorable 27-24 win over what was then No. 6 LSU (7-3). In these 3 games the rebels have seemed to have started peeking. In the 2008 these same things were evident around this time of the year, sloppy wins over teams you are better than, but Ole Miss still beat them just because the Rebels had more talent. Many fans feel that the Rebels have to drop at least one more game, but why?
Like Shay Hodge said on our radio show. The 2009 team never really peeked and never had much of a win streak, but the 2013 Rebels have seemed to have hit the peeking point just like the 2008 team did “which won its last 5 games.” Just looking ahead here are the 3 teams which stand in Ole Miss’s way of winning out the 2013 regular season.
This Trojans team has lost 5 games with pretty close margins, minus the 62-7 blow-out loss to Mississippi State earlier in the year. Troy is very multiple on offense so they may be able to move the ball early on, but Ole Miss should handle Troy with ease next saturday.
Mizzouri has only dropped one game this year against South Carolina. The SEC east definitely isn’t the strongest it has ever been with Georgia and Florida having disappointing seasons. Mizzou will get its 1st dose of the SEC west this year when the tigers travel to Oxford in what will be an electric game. Mizzou’s +15 turnover margin is best in the SEC and is the most scary part about them.
“No caps intended.” This game will be in Starkville on Thanksgiving night after Ole Miss has a home game with Mizzou and state will come of a road game in war-memorial stadium. This is the SEC championship for state, while it is just another game for the rebels. Ole Miss is just better at every position though. Rebs will win by 10+.
