While I’ve made no official comment about it, I think my silence generally has been a pretty good indicator that I’ve abandoned blogging about basketball this year (I’m pleased to note that I’m still seeing plenty of games, though). However, last night’s Wisconsin-Michigan State game got me fired up enough to briefly come out of retirement to jot down a few thoughts. It was an upsetting night (particularly after watching the Badger football team lose by just barely running out of time the night prior), but I think in times like these it is important to clarify who and what you’re upset with. With that in mind, here’s who I’m upset with over last night’s game, and who I’m not upset with. Those Who I’m Not Upset With:The Officials: Much as it hurts to say, every indication is that they got the call right. Moreover, they actually deserve some praise for the way that they handled things. First off, while I expect my referees to have a thorough understanding of the rules of basketbal...

Where Does the Wisconsin Badgers Aaron Henry Fit in the NFL Draft?

Besides being one of the best interviews in college football, the Wisconsin Badgers Aaron Henry is also a talented prospect at the safety position. The senior Henry will enter the NFL Draft this spring and as of now ranks as a top-five safety. With a strong showing prior to the draft, he could go as high as the second round, but shouldn’t go any lower than the third or fourth...

Time runs out on Wisconsin in 45-38 Rose Bowl loss

In a season of last-second stunners, Wisconsin ran out of time to try one of its own. The ninth-ranked Badgers lost to No. 6 Oregon 45-38 on Monday, with the game ending on a final-play review that went against them, just as it did in a loss at Michigan State that spoiled their undefeated start to the season. With 2 seconds remaining, the Badgers needed more time to set up a desperation...

Worthy's decision to go pro is no risk

You shake your head every year with some of the decisions made by college football and basketball players to turn pro early. Not in the case of Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel Worthy. From all indications, he's not taking a bad gamble. Far from it. Worthy is projected as a "very high" NFL draft pick based on feedback he's received from the league and that...

Even Though He’d Like To, Bo Ryan Knows That He Can’t Whip The Refs Ass

Wisconsin’s basketball coach, Bo Ryan is the friggin’ man. The dude is 64 years old, and can do the soulja boy better than your ass can. That’s G. But besides for that, after the refs/shot clock disallowed what should have been a game-tying 3-point shot by Badgers guard Ryan Evans (determined it was released after the buzzer, which gave the Michigan Spartans a...

3 Questions Answered: Michigan State

First things first, congrats to Michigan State. They took advantage of Georgia's mistakes and turned them into points. They are the best bowl opponent we've faced in the Richt era and probably since Ohio State in '92. They played extremely well in the second half and their last TD drive was a thing of precision. Do we bring the 1st half team from the SEC Championship...

Pat Narduzzi-to-Texas A&M rumors coming out of College Station

Michigan State just lost their best defensive player in DT Jerel Worthy to the NFL Draft. Now, the Spartans could be losing their defensive coordinator too. There’s been nothing official from either the Michigan State or Texas A&M camps, but TexAgs.com is reporting that MSU DC  Pat Narduzzi was in College Station Thursday, presumably interviewing for…
