Pat Summitt and Tennessee have gone three years without a NCAA title. Stanford reached the Final Four as a one seed in the NCAA Women’s Tournament on Monday night. Tennessee did not. The Volunteers are like Duke and North Carolina’s men’s teams combined into one squad when it comes to ladies basketball. Pat Sumitt’s girls rarely lose a game, especially in the NCAA Tournament.  Connecticut has been the megatron of women’s basketball in recent years, but over Summitt’s coaching career at Rocky Top Tennessee has been the team to beat almost every time it has taken the floor. Notre Dame’s win over the Volunteers means Tennessee hasn’t won the women’s title in three seasons, which is a big deal to the Big Orange.  Over the last eleven years, rival Connecticut has won more championships (6) then they haven’t won.
