Yasiel Puig’s latest highlight-worthy play didn’t go down in the books as an out, but that doesn’t make the outfielder’s catch any less impressive.
During Saturday afternoon’s game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Puig went full speed into foul territory tracking a fly ball that ended up hitting the wall. After Puig bounced off the wall himself, the Dodgers outfield displayed impressive focus, and was able to corral the ball and snag it up before it hit the ground.
Although the play was officially ruled a catch, the umpires reviewed the play and determined that it was, in fact, a foul ball.

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a four game sweep of the Chicago Cubs with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Dodgers are now 31-7 in their last 38 games, have a franchise-best streak of 14 consecutive road wins, and have increased their lead in the NL West division to 5 1/2 games over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Heading into the series with the Cubs, the Dodgers had made the...
Has anyone made so many ridiculous catches in such a short span of time as Yasiel Puig? It seems like the Los Angeles Dodgers rookie right fielder tacks one or two grabs onto his highlight reel every game.
Even when the catch doesn't count as an out, Puig makes it interesting — like this one at Wrigley Field.
After initially ruling this catch an out, the umpires conferred...
Los Angeles Dodgers' right fielder Yasiel Puig left Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs with a contusion near the base of his left thumb.
As reported by Ken Gurnick of MLB.com,
"Puig was injured making a diving catch in right field on Starlin

If you have the opportunity to see Yasiel Puig play, pay the money, because you’re likely to see something special. Friday night’s Puig highlight was a diving catch, as he was coming in and to his left and robbed Chicago Cubs IF Darwin Barney of a sure hit. What I want you to watch is the economy of steps. By the time the camera catches Puig who got a great jump, he makes...
We kind of had the feeling Yasiel Puig would do this last night in his first game in Chicago. He seems like the kind of guy who likes to start a weekend early – and start the weekend early he did.
The ball was flying out of Wrigley last night like crazy. The Dodgers won the game 6-4, their 12th straight road win. The highlight was clearly Puig catching this low breaking ball and...
Yasiel Puig made one of the best catches we have seen all season, even though it was ruled a foul ball. Check out Yasiel heading full speed towards a wall in right field at Wrigley on Saturday and he proceeded to bobble a ball off of his glove, then off the wall, and somehow managed to catch the ball on his way down. Unfortunately it was ruled a foul ball, but no one cares about...
There is plenty of love to go around for the Dodgers right now. Although Yasiel Puig receives a good chunk of the love thrown LA’s direction, he doesn’t hoard it all for himself. He shares it with his pals. This beautiful moment was caught on tape during the Dodgers tilt with the St. Louis Cardinals tonight at Busch Stadium after Puig almost lapped A-Gon on the base paths....
Embarking on an eight game road trip away from Chavez Ravine, the Los Angeles Dodgers have taken the first two games of a four game set with the Chicago Cubs.
Their latest victory on Friday afternoon moved the team’s post All Star Game record to 12-2 and they are now a MLB best 29-7 since June 22. The victory on Friday also marked their 12th consecutive road win, tying a franchise...
The Los Angeles Dodgers had their liveliest crowds of the season on this last homestand but they seem to save their best baseball for when most of the people in the building are against them.
The Dodgers flew through the night to the Midwest and then played one of their most explosive games in a week in a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Thursday. It was the Dodgers...
Your browser does not support iframes. Yasiel Puig plays as hard as one can, and the all-out approach often puts his body in jeopardy. On Saturday against the Chicago Cubs, the phenom hurt his thumb making a diving catch in the right-center gap. Puig laid out to rob Starlin Castro of a hit in the [...]

Yasiel Puig hit a long home run and scored two runs to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly pushed Zack Greinke's scheduled start back to Monday, saying he wanted to keep his starting pitchers fresh and rested.
Mattingly, who hinted on Saturday that he might make this move, also kept Yasiel Puig out of the lineup because the outfielder has a hurt left thumb. Stephen Fife will start Sunday against the Cubs.
The move will also give Dodgers...
