Should the Eagles draft a RB?

We all love B-West. In my opinion he's one of the best backs in the league. As of right now the Eagles have not re up'd his contract. The question is will they? Look at Duce, look at Owens and look at Warters. Philly doesn't like to spend big money on someone that's hitting the 30 year age. Is Westbrook worth it? Hell yeah. Will FO give him what he deserves? I hope....... Should we look for a RB in this draft? There's a guy out there named Chris Johnson. The ECU back reminds me of #36. In my opinion he's worth the 2rd or early 3rd pick. How do you feel bout this?

His vision and running style is like a young Westbrook. I think he might be something special as a pro. Get rid of Moats, to many injures there. Oh yeah, He'll answer our kick and punt return needs also.

We wouldn't waste a 2nd or third on a rb even if he can return punts and kicks. Unless he was the most talented player on the board by far

Westbrook will get his pay from the Eagles. The Eagles have several big contracts for guys over 30. Made after they turned 30, or made knowing it would carry after they hit 30. Runyan was signed after he turned 30. Dawk, Mcnabb, Runyan, Thomas, and soon to be Westbrook. The Eagles just aren't going to pay old guys who can't perform at a top level. People always take that as "we don't keep guys over 30." No, we don't keep guys who can't perform, period.

I want Westbrook to get the big payday, he deserves it. But for some dumb ass reason we have a history of not giving what's due to a RB. I want to see him get paid, but I'm worried.

WHO IS THIS KID!!!!!!!! CUT MOATS ....let this guy run them kicks back

I'm a true fan that's who I am. Moats has 1 good year when Bwest was hurt that's all. The reality shows, this is a do or die year for Moats. can we count on him to be there for us when he's shown injury problems?

My guess is that Johnson will be gone by the time the Eagles pick in the second round. If you remember Johnson ran a 4.24 forty at the combine which was the fastest overall. Even though I feel he will be a stud somebody is going to take him just based off his speed.

That could be true

the only way the Eagles take a running back in the first 4-5 rounds would be in Darren McFadden fell all the way to 19 and they simply couldn't pass him up. That being said...it'll never happen. When has Andy given 2 craps about the running game? Take note on how high he drafted our current starting RB.

I feel like it can be worked on in the future, but we have a Pro Bowl running back "On Day One."
HAHA
My vote is for Westbrook to stay comfortable, and see where T. Hunt may take us.

it wouldnt be a bad idea to draft a rb but we have much more pressing needs right now

I dont know, I say trade Buck and Moats and Howard and Considine for a 2nd and 3rd. Buck has huge value, he might even get us a 1st if we package him and howard. Considine and Moats should buy us a 3rd. That way, we got more young talent. So, what do you think

Westbrook is signed until 2010, just like McNabb. He'll most likely get his nice contract next season. I agree we could use another nice RB, but I think Tony Hunt will work out just fine as long as he's given the chance he had next to zero touches last year and over time he'll show up. Whatever happened to that BETHEL JOHNSON signing that they made at the beginning of last year that turned out to do us no good? Anybody know? HE was supposed to be our "return specialist"....eventhough he hasn't done anything all that special since he entered the league...

As a 1A running back he stacks up as the best of the bunch in my opinion. A lot of people have called him a " Very poor man's Reggie Bush." And if Chris Johnson is left around in the third or perhaps fourth rounds I am sure they may take a chance with him because there is a chance that he would make a pretty damn good return specialist. But remember Eastern Carolina is not a top school like USC, Penn State or Ohio State. ECU is in a lower division which means he's looked so damn good because he's be put against mediocre talent. That doesn't mean he can't make it in the NFL. But it will take some time for him to develop into a BWest. But remember we just drafted Tony Hunt in the third round last year and he hasn't been given a chance to show what he has to offer. When Hunt was give the chance (in pre season and camp.) He's done a damn good job. Right now Westbrook's replacement is already on the team in the form of Tony Hunt. But if the Birds find themselves face-to-face with Chris Johnson in the 3rd or 4th Rounds, I can see them spending a draft pick on the kid in the hopes that he can help this team on special teams. What makes him even more enticing to the birds is that he's also listed as a WR which means he can catch and we all know how the birds like a back that can catch.

There are a bunch of good specialists out now, i believe we have a couple of them. I mean J.R. Reed can be great, and we haven't yet given Fontenot or Childress a chance. If not there is always Dexter Jackson, and even Kenny Philips can return.

we probably should cut moats he played ok his rookie year his stats from 06 are about the same from 07 and he didnt play in 07 i never understood the interest in the kid samll weak not very fast not great vision not hard to tackle but no i dont think will be seeing a rb in the draft they took one in the 3rd round last year and b west is on top of his game they'll let hunt develop and if he doesnt pan out by next year theyll draft one high or take care of it in a trade ot through free agency

PittsViaJerz--- I was not questioning who you were I was wondering who the kid is in the highlites...LOL my bad man did not mean to offend you ......any TRU eagle fan is a fan of mine......its all good.
