I mentioned the possibility of this happening a little over two weeks ago, and I'm now jubilant to find out that former Jacksonville Jaguars safety, Donovin Darius, has signed with my beloved Oakland Raaaidaaas...
Darius made things official on Tuesday when he signed a three year deal with the Silver and Black...The nine-year veteran is set to make 7 mil. over the next three years...Frankly, Al Davis' crew made out like bandits on this one...Darius, with 846, is the Jags all-time leading tackler, and will be nice addition to the Raiders, who despite a 2-14 record, boasted the leagues third best defense in 2006...
Donovin will be added to an Oakland secondary that includes 2006 first rounder Michael Huff alongside Stuart Schweigert out of Purdue...Is it going too far to say that I'm giddy just thinking about the Raiders defense next year...? Give the team a few years with JaMarcus Russell and Michael Bush playing with a rejuvenated Jerry Porter, and I think you've got a perennial playoff team...Just like the G&G (Gannon and Gruden) days...Bring on football season...
