IL Staff Pick ’Em, Week 4

March 13th, 2008 by Terry Foy

I would say the trash talk is heating up, but that’d be a lie. I’m in the cellar and not in much of a position to talk, Dixon is “too tired” (his words), duty is calling Culver, Skakandi is afraid of getting yelled at and Schaffer doesn’t want to bring the negativity to his ivory tower.

Jiloty sent a nice shot across the bow, saying “Dixon, looked for your talking head game previews from last week but all I found were some random clips with three helmets on a table.”

It’s hard to take him too seriously though, because after complaining about how easy last week’s picks were (5-2 is your definition of easy, John?), I get this in my inbox: “These are hard games. Guess I shouldn’t have complained that the Albany-Delaware game wasn’t in the picks last week…” Really reeks of confidence, eh?

As always, picks, standings and comments after the jump.

PENN @ YALE

SYRACUSE @ HOPKINS

FAIRFIELD @ HARVARD

Duke is amazing because the best players on the team have been given a ridiculous favor. Amazing is a better desciption of the NCAA’s decision. What isn’t amazing is that they could go undefeated, but should that really impress anyone?

Will Duke buy the NCAA dinner for buying them a championship?

  4. By K 9 on Mar 13, 2008 | Reply

Most of you guys are choosing Princeton??? Alex Hewitt let a lot of stick side high goals in last week against, and they still dont really have a go to guy offensively. On top of that Hofstra is brimming with confidence after beating one of the top two teams in the country. My money is on the Pride.

UNC has all of the tools to upset Duke. Don’t sleep on the Tar Heels.

    KANDI,

How you could you take the Stags over Harvard? I think that as a great player you should no the inside information. What do you think about the Hop winning this weekend? I think they are going to have a tough one. What do you think?

Duke is, has been and will be amazing! The fact that Some( not all) seniors from last year are playing their Fourth season is only fair given that the 2006 season was canceled due to an evil hoax and criminal prosecutor. One senior from last year is even playing for UVA.Lots of new team members are really contributing as are this year’s seniors. They deserve all their wins!

    PJ,
A buddy of mine on fairfield called me out last week for not picking them against Rutgers, so I had to go with them this week. Not saying Harvard doesn’t have a very good chance to win. As far as Hopkins/Syracuse goes, I think Hopkins could pull it out as long as they dont take this ‘Cuse team lightly. It will not be a typical Hopkins/’Cuse regular season game, like the ones from the recent past. Syracuse seems to have a new attitude and respect towards their opponenets this year. Thanks for the post!

3 of the 5 round table picked Albany to win over Drexel. It was a close game, but even with the officials doing their best to call the game in Albany’s behalf, Drexel prevailed. Albany’s EMO couldn’t find the net even with Drexel 3 men down.

    KANDI,

Tough loss for the HOP what do you think the team’s mentality is at this point in the season? You guys had a great turn round last year, do you think they can climb the mountain one more time?
