With NFL Pro Days sweeping local universities across the nation, it is time for fantasy sports fans to start planning how to respond to this year’s crop of rookies. After all, let’s face it, none of us saw Arian Peterson coming, nor the consistency of Marshawn Lynch and the disappointment of JaMarcus Russell. So who are the top rookies for the upcoming season? Let’s take a look:

Darren McFadden, Arkansas- Could he be as talented as Adrian Peterson? They have a lot of similarities, including sensational college statistics, as well as some injuries that need to become a part of the past. Most importantly, he needs a chance to shine right away. If the Raiders pick him, will they still start Justin Fargas? Where does Dominic Rhodes fit in?

Matt Ryan, BC- He looked like a professional for most of the NCAA season before the FSU Seminoles embarrassed him on national television. So far scouts have been drooling over his size and ability. Will he watch and learn in ’08, or get thrown in game action?
